The very climb to the Špilberk lookout is an experience! When you climb all 103 steps from the small courtyard, you will be rewarded with the most beautiful view of the whole of Brno. The historic core of the city with all its landmarks is at your fingertips, the outskirts are a stone's throw away, and in good weather you can even see the well-known silhouette of Pálava.

The only observation tower that offers a 360' view not only of the whole of Brno, but also of the entire city.

It includes entrance to the Royal Chapel and the Prismatic Tower. In the past, these areas formed a representative and defensive part of medieval Špilberk. Today we can probably do without the defensive function, but the representative spaces are still there.

The observation tower is closed in case of bad weather.

The newly reinstalled exhibition “Chapel of the Crosses” recalls its turbulent history and the contrast between expressions of faith and militaristic agitation.

The exhibition will recall the dramatic siege of Brno in 1645, when the city - contrary to all expectations - resisted an overwhelmingly superior Swedish force. Through personalized stories of defenders as well as ordinary soldiers, it will bring to life key moments of the Thirty Years’ War that continue to shape the identity of the capital of Moravia to this day.

The pass can be used for admission to permanent exhibitions as well as temporary exhibitions organized by the Brno City Museum at Špilberk Castle.
